Sorry I've been out of touch lately! We've been busy traveling and when we're home Daddy's working, and Mommy's cleaning and I'm either sleeping, crying, or eating. Very busy!

So...anyways, a few weeks ago the family headed out to Winthrop, WA and across the North Cascades Highway, which just opened about a month ago due to the snow. Saturday we drove to Winthrop. Along the way we passed plenty o'farms.
And then, as we got into central Washington, there were more hills and scenary.

In Winthrop we stayed at this hotel, which allowed pets. My buddy Hondo was sure glad as he didn't want to sleep in the car. There was a great hill behind it as you can see in the photo. You can also see a little speck on the ridge, which is a huge tree, so you can imagine that the hill was larger than it looks here.
Sunday morning Dad took Hondo and me for a drive so that Mommy could get some sleep (hey, it's not my fault that I get hungry throughout the night!). We headed out to Peregrine lake, shown below. It was beautiful. Dad was mumbling something about "someday this will all be yours...."

After a burrito breakfast we headed out into the North Cascades along Highway 20.

Mind you I slept pretty much as soon as we got started, but dad snapped some shots for me to rememeber the trip. Here are a few from when he and Hondo got out for a walk and I grabbed some lunch.

Below is one of me as I was dining in the mobile lunchwagon. Not a bad view from this joint, eh?

From there we headed past Ross Lake, shown below. Not much development or roads around this lake, so we just took some photos from the car on the highway. Dad said that someday we'll kayak down there, which is apprently "the thing to do."
Then, we passed by Diable lake, shown below. Can you see how green that water is?

Zooming out, here is the whole view. Can you see the person on the righthand side of the photo, by the full tree.

Here is a nice tree.

Here's Davis peak at Diablo Lake:

We went all the way around the mountains skirting by Everett, WA and driving through such notable towns as Leavenworth, WA and Wenatchee, WA. Finally, we arrived back in Spokane. A few days later we were visited by this really cool butterfly.
